The Circumstances

As the Senior Product UX/UI Designer at CollabWorks, I led a team working on an Action-Based-Costing solution. The solution analyzed employees' work through a complex system of 10 modules. Previously, each module required on-site guidance from skilled HR professionals to complete multiple steps. Our challenge was to simplify this process.

The Task at Hand

Our goal was to make each module intuitive enough for teams to use independently with minimal training, eliminating the need for constant professional oversight.

The Approach

We began with an in-depth heuristic evaluation of all modules. This analysis revealed common structures and data types across modules while highlighting inconsistent terminology. We then undertook an iterative redesign of all ten modules, cycling through design, prototyping, and user testing. We also refined the system's calculations to align with the improved user experience.

The Outcome

The integration created a cohesive, user-friendly solution. Teams could now use the tool independently after just 30 minutes of training, gaining valuable insights about their worth. The results were remarkable—a 24-person technology team at a Fortune 100 company increased their annual value by $1 million, proving the tool's effectiveness.
