Data Visualization SaaS B2B for Qualcomm (Collabworks)

Description

The Art of Information Graphic Design - for Product design that require LOTS of HUD display.

The Circumstances

As the Senior Product UX/UI Designer at CollabWorks, my team and I worked on an Action-Based-Costing solution. This solution, tailored to employees' work, encompassed a complicated system of 10 individual modules. Each module had multiple steps that formerly required on-site moderation by skilled HR professionals. Our challenge was to simplify this process.

The Task at Hand

The main objective was to enhance each module to enable independent use by the team with minimal training. This involved making them intuitive and user-friendly, thus reducing the need for constant professional supervision.

The Approach

An in-depth heuristic evaluation of all modules was carried out to achieve this. This analysis helped identify a common structure and data types across the modules, and highlighted terminological inconsistencies. The redesign process for all ten modules was iterative, involving multiple rounds of design, prototyping, and user testing. Furthermore, the system's calculations were revised and advanced to match the new thought processes developed during the redesign.

The Outcome

The successful integration of all ten modules resulted in a unified solution. After a brief 30-minute training session, customers could use the tool independently to gather valuable insights about their teams' worth. It proved to be extremely beneficial. For example, a 24-person technology team at a Fortune 100 company increased their annual value by an impressive $1 million, demonstrating the tool's effectiveness and value.
